  2. We fully recognize that personal information is something that should be handled very carefully based on respect for each person as an individual. Therefore, we will comply with laws and regulations that stipulate the handling of personal information, and will endeavor to handle it appropriately in consideration of rights such as privacy rights. In addition, we will review and improve the handling of personal information as necessary.

  4. When the Company collects personal information, we will clarify the purpose for which the information is being collected to the person concerned and will collect the information in a lawful and fair manner to the extent necessary to achieve that purpose.

  5. Use of Personal Information
  6. When this Company uses personal information, we will use it only within the scope of the purpose of collection for which we have obtained consent from the person concerned.
    Note: The purpose of collection is as stated in the “Purpose of Use of Personal Information” section of the separate section “Publicly Announced Matters under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.”

  7. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
  8. We will not disclose or provide personal information to third parties except in the following cases:

    • When we have obtained your consent
    • Disclosure or provision of personal information to subcontractors when necessary for the operation of our business
      When providing personal information to subcontractors, we will ensure that the information is handled appropriately before providing it to them.
    • When there are other justifiable reasons, including mandatory disclosure under law
  9. Secure Management and Ensuring Personal Information is Up to Date

We will always handle personal information with the utmost care and take the best possible precautions to prevent the loss, destruction, falsification, leakage, or improper access to personal information. In addition, we will endeavor to keep the personal data held by the Company accurate and up-to-date to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use.

  11. Disclosure, Correction, Inquiries, etc.
  12. We will respond in good faith to the customer’s requests for disclosure, correction, addition, or deletion of information regarding personal data in our possession, as well as to various inquiries regarding the handling of personal information.

Publicly Announced Matters under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information

  1. Purpose of Use of Personal Information (related to Article 18, Paragraph 1 of the Act)
  2. In the following businesses, we will use personal information within the scope necessary in the conclusion and performance of contracts, the collection of receivables and the performance of obligations, the development and improvement of products and services, and provision of guidance via direct mail, etc. regarding construction methods, products, and services, or to carry out work incidental thereto.

    6. Manufacture and sale of reference materials for environmental analysis and reagents for biological identification

    8. Survey, design, construction and operation of cultivation facilities for agricultural/forestry products, aqua farms and aquariums
    9. Production and sales of agricultural, forestry, and marine products, flowers, and horticultural plants, as well as production and sales of horticultural materials and folk crafts

Related Procedures, etc.

  1. Provision of a request form
  2. We will post a special request form to any customer who makes a request to the service desk for disclosure, etc. in accordance with the law, etc. or provide them with a special request form if they visit our location.

  3. Submission of request form
  4. Please fill in the required information on the request form and submit it to the service desk. If you submit the request form by mail, please write “Contains request regarding retained personal data” in red ink on the envelope. The “requester,” on the request form, refers to the individual identified by the retained personal data that is the subject of the request, and the “proxy of the requester” refers to the individual submitting the request form on behalf of the requester.

  5. Identity verification
  6. When submitting a request form, we will check documents (driver’s license, various health insurance cards or pension handbooks, etc., passport, Residence Card (for foreigners living in Japan), etc.; hereinafter, “Identity Verification Documents”) to confirm the identity of the requester or the proxy of the requester. When submitting the request form by mail, please enclose copies of your Identity Verification Documents.

  7. Request by proxy
    1. If the request form is submitted by someone who has received a letter of proxy from the requester as a proxy of the requester, the letter of proxy along with copies of the requester’s Identity Verification Documents must be presented to the reception desk (when sending by mail, the document must be enclosed with the request form).
    2. If the request form is submitted by a legal representative of the requester as a proxy of the requester, then please present a document that certifies the legal representative’s status (abstract of family register, etc.). (Enclose with the request form when sending by mail.) Copies of the requester’s Identity Verification Documents are not required in this case. Please mask (color over, etc.) the items displayed on these documents that certify the legal representative’s status which are not required for identify verification and certification of status before submitting these documents.
  8. Handling of Identity Verification
  9. We will immediately shred and dispose the copies of Identity Verification Documents of the requester or proxy of the requester after we have confirmed the identity of the individual unless specially requested otherwise. Please mask (color over, etc.) the items displayed in the Identity Verification Documents which are not required for identify verification before submitting these documents.

  10. Response
  11. We shall, in principle, post by mail a written reply to the individual (requester or proxy of the requester) who submitted the request form. If the request is submitted by a proxy of the requester and you wish for the written response to be sent to the requester, then please make an indication to that effect when submitting the request form. We strive to promptly reply to the requests we have received; however, please allow around 10 business days after receipt of the request for the written reply to be posted. Please note that we may not be able to respond to requests as desired, such as not being able to disclose the requested retained personal data.

  12. Handling fee
  13. We charge a handling fee of 500 yen (including consumption taxes, etc.) for each request for notification of the purpose of use based on Article 24, Paragraph 2 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and for each request for disclosure based on Article 25, Paragraph 1 of the same Act. (We will notify of the method of payment before disclosing the information, etc.)

    • The above handling fee will be charged for requests made concerning personal information from October 3, 2005 onward.
    • We may charge an additional separately-specified fee for requests to disclose special content in the case it would necessitate a long internal investigation, etc.
  14. Other
  15. Please note that we may not be able to comply with a request to return a submitted request form once we have received it.
